If a public sidewalk abutting or on an owner's property appears to be in a condition
which is dangerous to people using the sidewalk, that property owner shall give prompt
written notice of that sidewalk condition to the City of Modesto's Public Works Director.
If the property owner fails to properly notify the City of such a condition, the property
owner shall be liable for damages or injuries caused by the condition of the sidewalk.
