Prior to the recordation of a parcel map which will result in the division of any
existing building or buildings into separate units or parts, the applicant shall secure
certification by the Chief Building Official that any building or buildings to be
divided will, after division, meet current code standards for new construction. As
used in this section, the phrase "current code standards" refers to all standards
in the current adopted editions of the Building Code, Electrical Code, Plumbing Code,
Mechanical Code and Fire Code of the City of Modesto.
