Section 906.9.1 of the 2016 California Fire Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
906.9.1 Extinguishers Weighing 40 Pounds or Less.
Portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight not exceeding forty (40) lbs. (18
kg) shall be installed so that their tops are not more than four (4) feet above the
floor.
Existing Installations.
Portable fire extinguishers shall only be required to be lowered during tenant improvements.
